In a dramatic turn of events, Somerset House, a historic gem on London's South Bank, was struck by a fire this past Saturday. The blaze, which began in the West Wing around noon, led to a swift evacuation of the iconic building. Thanks to the quick response from the London Fire Brigade, including 25 fire trucks, the fire was contained to a limited area with no injuries reported. Somerset House, a treasure since the 16th century, has seen significant renovations but remains a pivotal cultural hub. Despite the fire, the Courtauld Gallery will reopen soon, showcasing its world-class collection, including works by Vincent van Gogh. For more details, check out the link in the description.
