Dubai International Airport was closed for a few hours on the 3rd of August 2016 and a number of flights were cancelled, delayed or diverted as Emirates EK521, a Boeing 777-300 that was travelling from Trivandrum to Dubai was involved in an operational incident upon landing at approximately 12:45 local time. All 282 passengers and 18 crew were evacuated safely.
