Amelie, now 10 months old, surprised her mother on February 3, 2025, by saying "Mama" for the first time.
Amelie's cleft condition means her top lip is split, which can potentially affect her speech development.
Her mother, Lilian Moss, 35, has been teaching her Makaton - a communication system using signs and symbols in case she was unable to speak.
But to Lilian's surprise, Amelie spoke her first word last month.
