A BRITISH tennis star let off a blood-curdling screech like something from a "horror movie" at the U.S. Open.
Harriet Dart beat Anca Todoni 7-5, 6-7, 7-6 in the first qualifying round at Flushing Meadows. Hehe was feeling the tension in the second set and screeched, Let's go!" as she tried to level the set 4-4.
Dart, 29, let out such a high-pitched wail after winning the point that even the Sky Sports commentators were left unsettled.
One commentator reacted, saying, "Wow, that was blood-curdling. It sent a shiver down my spine.
"Like something out of a horror movie."
Fans were also taken aback by the shocking incident.
One reacted saying: "Harriet Dart is a set and a break up but is screaming like a mad banshee."
Another added, "Harriet Dart has been screaming her head off in this qualifying match."
A third wrote: "Harriet Dart is beyond fuming."
Dart has set up a match against American Ayana Akli, and she will have to win that and a third qualifier to reach the U.S. Open.
She has reached the tournament on four occasions, most recently last year when she reached the second round.
