A 41-year-old Chuck E. Cheese employee in Tallahassee, Florida, dressed in the full mascot costume, was arrested during a birthday party after being accused of stealing and fraudulently using a customer’s debit card. Bodycam footage shows officers handcuffing the costumed mascot while children looked on, some crying and shouting “Chuck E, no!” The man, Jermell J. Jones, was charged with multiple felonies including theft and credit card fraud, then released on a $1,000 bond. The incident quickly went viral due to the surreal sight of police leading away Chuck E. Cheese in cuffs.
