UP escapes UST in UAAP 88 thriller
Harold Alarcon came through in the clutch as University of the Philippines escape University of Santo Tomas, 89-88, in the UAAP Season 88 men's basketball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena on Nov. 5, 2025. Alarcon poured eight of his total 22 points in the last three minutes, including the go-ahead jumper in the last 24 seconds for the Fighting Maroons, who claimed their third straight win and seven of their last eight games to rise to 7-3 for solo second place. UST suffered its fourth straight loss to fall to 5-5 for a 3-way tie with Adamson and Ateneo in fourth place.
