Marcos orders increase in base pay of soldiers
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Dec. 3, 2025 orders the increase of the base pay of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and other members of the uniformed ranks in recognition of their bravery and unwavering dedication to protecting the country and people. The increase will be implemented in three tranches— Jan. 1, 2026; Jan. 1, 2027; and Jan. 1, 2028. Apart from this, the commander-in-chief likewise ordered the increase in the Subsistence Allowance of all MUP from P150 to P350 per day effective Jan. 1, 2026.
