तमिलनाडु की राजनीति और न्यायपालिका में इस वक्त भूचाल आया हुआ है। 'इंडिया गठबंधन' (INDIA Alliance) के करीब 107 सांसदों ने लोकसभा अध्यक्ष ओम बिरला को जस्टिस जीआर स्वामीनाथन को हटाने के लिए नोटिस सौंपा है। इसमें DMK, कांग्रेस, सपा और शिवसेना जैसी पार्टियां शामिल हैं। सांसदों ने संविधान के अनुच्छेद 124 और 217 का हवाला देते हुए जस्टिस पर महाभियोग चलाने की मांग की है।
