Iron Man is a superhero movie from the United States that came out in 2008. It is based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. It is the first movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and was made by Marvel Studios and distributed by Paramount Pictures. Jon Favreau directed the movie, which was written by Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby and Art Marcum and Matt Holloway. Robert Downey Jr. plays Tony Stark/Iron Man, and Terrence Howard, Jeff Bridges, Gwyneth Paltrow, Leslie Bibb, and Shaun Toub also star. After being held captive by a terrorist organization, Stark, a world-famous businessman and skilled engineer, constructs a mechanized suit of armor and becomes Iron Man, a superhero.
