Aerial footage recorded on Jan. 2, 2026 shows widespread flooding across the San Francisco Bay Area, with streets and buildings partially submerged as storm conditions hit the region. From the air, people were seen navigating floodwaters however they could, using kayaks and paddle boards to travel along submerged streets. The National Weather Service has issued a coastal flood advisory through Jan. 4 for the Pacific Coast and San Francisco Bay shoreline, warning of possible road closures in low-lying areas. A high wind advisory is also in effect through Jan. 3, with gusts of up to 50 miles per hour expected in parts of the Bay Area.
Officials say emergency crews are monitoring flood-prone locations as conditions continue through the weekend.
