犯罪、環境汚染、自然災害など高度化、複雑化する人類の脅威に立ち向かうべく、インターポール・警視庁・消防庁・防衛省・厚生省など様々な機関からのスペシャリストが集結し、ウインスペクター、ソルブレインに続く新たなレスキューポリスが誕生した。それが、特別救急捜査隊エクシードラフト（略称SRED）である。

To confront increasingly sophisticated and complex threats to humanity—such as crime, environmental pollution, and natural disasters—specialists from various agencies including Interpol, the Metropolitan Police Department, the Fire and Disaster Management Agency, the Ministry of Defense, and the Ministry of Health and Welfare have come together. This has led to the birth of a new rescue police force, succeeding Winspector and Solbrain. That force is the Special Rescue Investigation Team Exceedraft (abbreviated as SRED).
