Johns Creek, GA Bodycam: Range Rover Rollover & Car Fire — Sunroof Rescue

Johns Creek, Georgia police bodycam footage of a Range Rover rollover crash and car fire on Knollcrest Boulevard. Officers use a fire extinguisher and break the sunroof to rescue the trapped driver from a burning 2023 Range Rover.

On March 19, 2024 (approx. 3:28 PM), Johns Creek Police were dispatched to a reported single-vehicle crash. Officer Weinrich arrived around 3:31 PM and found the SUV sideways on a residential lawn and actively burning. After reducing the flames enough to access the vehicle, officers broke the sunroof and removed the female driver through the opening. One assisting officer was evaluated for lacerations after breaking glass during the rescue.

The driver was identified as Alka. After she was removed, officers located a mostly empty bottle of Yellow Tail Pinot Grigio (per report). Officer Bacon arrived around 3:40 PM and assumed the investigation. The Johns Creek Fire Department extinguished remaining embers while EMS evaluated the driver. She admitted to consuming alcohol and was transported to the hospital for further evaluation.
