The organisation that oversees Adelaide writers' week has apologised to Palestinian Australian author Randa Abdel-Fattah and says she'll be invited to speak at the next event in 2027. This year's writers' week was cancelled after more than 100 authors withdrew from the event. That followed a decision to cancel an invitation to Ms Abdel-Fattah, over her commentary about Israel and Zionism. The Adelaide festival corporation now says it has reversed its previous decision to exclude Ms Abdel-Fattah and retracts its previous statement. It says it apologises unreservedly for the harm the corporation caused her. The apology comes after the resignation of the previous Adelaide festival board and appointment of replacement directors.
