Bengaluru News: The Hebbagodi Police under the Electronic City Division have apprehended a 23-year-old man for a series of disturbing crimes involving the theft and misuse of women’s undergarments.
The Case Details: On January 19, 2026, residents of Vidya Nagar reported a suspicious individual prowling rooftops and courtyards. Investigations revealed that the accused, identified as Amal N. Aji (23), was stealing garments left out to dry.

The Modus Operandi: The accused would steal the items, wear them himself, and take photographs.
Evidence: Police recovered several stolen items and incriminating photographs from his residence near Ganesh Temple in Hebbagodi.
BNS Charges: A suo-moto case has been registered under sections 303(2), 329(4), and 79 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for theft and insulting the modesty of women.
The suspect was caught red-handed by a Hoysala patrol team following a tip-off. Authorities believe he had been engaging in these acts for a significant period.
