While many families are preparing for the start of another school year, those experiencing homelessness face additional challenges when it comes to education especially if a student is facing it all alone. Recent figures from the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare show a 17 per cent increase in unaccompanied children and young people accessing homelessness services in WA, leading to calls for more funding into the sector.
