Tropical cyclone now forecast to reach category 3 as it passes Karratha

An evacuation centre is being prepared in the Pilbara after Tropical Cyclone Mitchell formed off WA last night. The storm is expected to intensify today and cross the coast as a category three system north of Karratha overnight.
