Part 2: Future References showing Nintendo video game Super Mario Bros. (1985) may been seen via 1958 sci-fi horror film Attack Of The Puppet People.

- June Kenney later worked with director Roger Corman & writer Charles B. Griffith on 1957 hard edged female gang film Teenage Doll.
- Corman & Griffith worked on 1960 horror comedy The Little Shop Of Horrors. The opening theme of this film is very similar to the theme music of the Fortress level of Super Mario Bros. 3. The piranha plant shown in the mario games is also similar to Audrey in Little Shop.
- Dennis Hopper played Koopa in the 1993 live-action Super Mario Bros. movie. He acted with Hoyt & Steve Franken in (The Time Travelers - 1964) in Panic In The City (1968). In this story government agents hunt Los Angeles for a nuclear device.
- Clues to Mario in "Panic" may include the title. Yume Kojo: Doki Doki Panic was the title to the 1987 Famicom game Nintendo later adapted to sell as Super Mario Bros. 2 in 1988.
- I thought Nehemiah Persoff who play's the Panic In The City antagonist may bear at least a passing resemblance to Police Academy 3: Back In Training actor Art Metrano known for his role as commandant Mauser.
- Mouser is a boss character encountered in world 1-3 in Super Mario 2. Another similarity to the film's plot, bombs are key to defeating this opponent.
