A health leader on Feb. 24, 2026 calls for the inclusion of universal screening for liver cancer in the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) benefit packages, saying existing coverage is insufficient. Speaking at a media roundtable, Dr. Jennielyn Conde, president of the Hepatology Society of the Philippines, said liver cancer was the fourth most common cancer in the country, with 32 Filipinos dying every day.
