Violence by Israeli settlers has increased in the occupied West Bank, where Palestinian families lost their homes and vehicles in a new arson attack south of Hebron. Settlers set fire to five houses and several vehicles in the village of Susya, also throwing tear gas into homes, causing at least four residents to suffer from suffocation. This incident is part of a broader escalation that saw more than 450 attacks by settlers in January alone across Palestinian territory. Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert acknowledged that Benjamin Netanyahu’s government is carrying out ethnic cleansing to forcibly displace the Palestinian population.
