Telegraph Avenue – Vol. 2 1975 (Peru, Hard, Progressive Rock)
The second album by the Peruvian band, which also turned out to be their last.Telegraph Avenue – Vol. 2, also known as "Volumen 2", was released in February 1975 by MAG. It is considered the last major album of the "golden age" of Peruvian rock (1965–1975).
The band Telegraph Avenue was formed in Lima, Peru, by Bo Ichikawa after a trip to the United States in 1969, where he was influenced by the San Francisco counterculture and the sound of Carlos Santana.
The album combines psychedelic rock with Latin rhythms, distorted guitars, and influences from American West Coast psych.
During the recording sessions in late 1974, the band encountered difficulties, such as a broken speaker during the solo on "Crippled Joe" and the loss of Alex Nathanson's left-handed bass.
Shortly after the album's release, the band disbanded due to political instability and the military dictatorship in Peru, which effectively ended the music scene of the time.
