Instead of a Rolex, you need to be buying assets. I mean, don't get me wrong, the Rolex is cool. But stop buying status before you can buy freedom. I only upgraded to this way into the game. A car is a liability that loses value the second you drive away. A business, though, is an asset that grows. Investments grow every single time. True wealth doesn't need to peacock. It can stay quiet and collect cash. Don't upgrade your lifestyle before you've actually upgraded your wealth.
