Tasmanian doctors fear extra conditions tied to a state government election promise will tank plans for a new hospital in the north. In the lead up to the 2024 state election, Tasmania's Liberals pledged to help the Launceston Health Hub build a new public-private hospital, by investing $35-million for a 50 per cent stake in the project. Yet almost two years after the election, the facility has failed to move forward.
