DOST calls for stronger interdisciplinary collaboration to address national challenges
The Department of Science and Technology-National Research Council of the Philippines (DOST-NRCP) on March 13, 2026 stresses the need for stronger collaboration across different disciplines to help address the country’s most challenging issues. Speaking at the 2026 annual scientific conference in Pasay City, DOST Secretary Renato Solidum Jr. said that research must not be confined to publications alone but must translate into initiatives that foster national development. Dr. Bernardo Sepeda, executive director of the DOST-NRCP, told _The Manila Times_ that in adopting research into policy, it is important that the initiative comes from the policy makers.
