A significant oil facility in Russia is engulfed in flames following a drone attack by Ukraine in Krasnodar Krai. As reported by sources from Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU), the assault focused on the Tikhoretsk oil pumping station, an essential logistics center supplying fuel to the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk.
The strike has reportedly led to large fires, seemingly involving fuel storage tanks. Clips shared online depict towering flames emanating from the site while Russian officials hurriedly deployed resources to manage the fire.
Ukraine claims that the operation was executed by the SBU’s Alfa Special Operations Center and is part of a larger strategy aimed at disrupting Russia’s oil supply lines and undermining the fuel logistics that support the ongoing conflict.
This attack comes on the heels of another recent offensive targeting oil infrastructure close to Novorossiysk earlier this month. Should these operations persist, they could significantly affect Russia’s energy transportation network and military supply chains.
