Located in Davie, Florida Tree Tops Park is a natural park that was created in 1980. The park sits on a 243.3 acres piece of land that was originally earmarked to be a golf course before Broward County intervened. The park is the gateway to the Pine Island Ridge Natural Area.

It was the scene of the Seminole Indian war battles, led by the Seminole chief Ar-pi-uck-i, also known as Abiaka. Ar-pi-uck-i, also known as Abiaka or Sam Jones, was a powerful spiritual alektca and war chief of the Miccosukee, a Seminole–Muscogee Creek tribe of the Southeast United States. Ar-pi-uck-i successfully defied the U.S. government and refused to remove to the Indian Territory west of the Mississippi and his influential leadership in the Second Seminole War resulted in the permanent Native American presence in Florida. He was undefeated in his battles with the U.S. Army, some battles fought on the very land of tree Tops Park, and skillfully moved his tribe from one location to another to avoid the army. He is a Seminole hero.
