The city’s river has turned bright green to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, as a local plumbers union dyed the water and crowds gathered despite near-freezing temperatures.
The color can last from a few hours to a couple of days, depending on the weather, and is now created using a vegetable-based dye after environmental concerns banned earlier chemicals.
