Jesus gave Paul a mission to preach the Gospel to the nations, but what he really wanted was to save his fellow Jews. When they didn't receive his message, he finally embraced his commission to the Gentiles, but still hoped that the Jews would be saved through the salvation of the Gentiles. Some people misunderstand his words to be anti-Jewish, when his love for the Jews was at the heart of everything he did.
