In September 1938, during the Arab Revolt in British-ruled Palestine, the quiet village of Al-Bassa was surrounded, shelled, and burned by British forces. Homes were set on fire, civilians were executed, and dozens of villagers were killed in what many historians describe as one of the most brutal collective punishments of the Mandate period.
