Rock musician, composer, and DJ Gerardo Manuel Rojas Rodó was born on August 18, 1946, in Lima. He was a founding member of many Peruvian bands, including Los Doltons, Los Shain's, and The (St. Thomas) Pepper Smelter. After the latter disbanded, he gathered his closest musician friends to form El Humo (Smoke), which was active from 1970 to 1973 and released three albums.
