The Department of Energy (DOE) said the Philippines has secured a total of 165.7 million liters of diesel for April, equivalent to about 1.042 million barrels, as part of efforts to ensure a stable and sufficient fuel supply amid global uncertainties.

In a statement issued March 30, the DOE reported that the first shipment of 22.58 million liters, or 142,000 barrels, from Japan has already arrived in the country on March 26. Further deliveries are scheduled throughout April, including 47.7 million liters from Malaysia and Singapore in early April, another 47.7 million liters from North Asia and India by mid-April, and an additional 47.7 million liters from Oman via Singapore by the end of the month.

The agency said the staggered arrivals are intended to strengthen supply availability and ensure that fuel requirements are met in the event of possible disruptions in global oil supply chains.
