After three days of discussions, the Landless Rural Workers’ Movement (MST) concluded its first national assembly focused on urban organizing. With more than a thousand delegates from favelas and working-class neighborhoods in attendance, the “Mãos Solidárias” (Solidarity Hands) event marks a milestone in the effort to unite the struggles of rural and urban communities.
