जम्मू-कश्मीर के गांदरबल जिले के अरहामा इलाके में बुधवार की सुबह सेना ने एक ऑपरेशन चलाया. सेना का कहना था कि उन्हें खुफिया जानकारी मिली थी कि इस इलाके में एक लोकल आतंकी छुपा हुआ है. ऑपरेशन के बाद सेना ने ऐलान किया कि एक आतंकी मारा गया...लेकिन जैसे ही मरने वाले का नाम और पहचान सामने आया, मामले ने पूरे प्रदेश में सनसनी मचा दी. प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री उमर अब्दुल्ला और पीडीपी चीफ महबूबा मुफ्ती ने इस एनकाउंटर यानि कि सेना के ऑपरेशन पर सवाल उठाए. मुख्यमंत्री ने जांच की मांग की थी और पीडीपी चीफ ने इसका समर्थन किया था. और अब एलजी मनोज सिन्हा ने मामले में मजिस्ट्रियल जांच के आदेश दिए हैं और सात दिनों के भीतर रिपोर्ट पेश करने को कहा है.

Following the operation, the Army announced that one terrorist had been killed; however, as soon as the name and identity of the deceased came to light, the incident created a sensation across the entire region. The state's Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, and PDP Chief, Mehbooba Mufti, raised questions regarding this encounter—specifically, the Army's operation. The Chief Minister demanded an inquiry into the matter, a call that was supported by the PDP Chief. And now, LG Manoj Sinha has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident and has directed that a report be submitted within seven days.
