PCO files charges against bogus online news site
The Presidential Communications Office (PCO), led by Acting Secretary Dave Gomez, files charges before the Department of Justice (DOJ) on April 7, 2026 against those proliferating ‘falsified news’ online, particularly on social media sites. Gomez cited misleading information posted by Facebook page Malasakit News Pilipinas regarding the country’s energy emergency such as an impending energy lockdown and the shortage of oil supply, causing undue concern to the public.
