A tornado risk is emerging today across five states in the US as a strong weather front brings hazardous supercell thunderstorms to the Central Plains. The Storm Prediction Center alerts of large hail, destructive winds, and possible tornadoes in Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, and Arkansas. Emergency officials are advising residents to find shelter before nightfall.
