I share a possible predictive easter egg to 1987 action (arm wrestling) film Over The Top. You can see this via 1983 science fiction film Space Raiders & in the original Star Wars (1977).
- I noticed some similarities in the space ship design in Space Raiders to other American sci-fi films. Research into this confirmed some of the models in Roger Corman's Battle Beyond The Stars (1980) were indeed reused. Director James Cameron (The Terminator) designed some ships in that movie, he later worked with Stallone, co-writing the screenplay for Rambo: First Blood Part II in 1986.
- One reused spacecraft seen at the 19 minute mark (called the "Hammerhead" in Battle Beyond The Stars) has an overall shape & hollow area similar to the shuttle / docking bay of the Imperial Star Destroyer seen in the opening scene of Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977).
- David Mendenhall (as a young boy) stars in Space Raiders & later joined Sylvester Stallone in the cast of Over The Top.
- I also thought an uncredited actor in the opening sequence of the original Star Wars may resemble Sylvester Stallone. He's one of the rebel / guard who run down the corridor (second group of men, on the left hand side) of the Blockade Runner / Tantive IV. You can make out his face very briefly.
