इस पर प्रतिक्रिया देते हुए असम के मुख्यमंत्री Himanta Biswa Sarma ने तेलंगाना की अदालत द्वारा दी गई ट्रांजिट बेल की वैधता पर सवाल उठाया। उन्होंने कहा कि किसी ऐसे व्यक्ति को, जो उस राज्य का निवासी नहीं है, इस प्रकार की राहत नहीं दी जानी चाहिए। उन्होंने यह भी जोर दिया कि कानून का पालन सख्ती से होना चाहिए और अंततः कानून अपना काम करेगा।
सर्मा ने कांग्रेस नेता Rahul Gandhi पर भी निशाना साधते हुए कहा कि उन्हें अपने बयानों में सावधानी बरतनी चाहिए और अपने पासपोर्ट का विवरण सार्वजनिक करना चाहिए।
