Ride-hailing platform cuts commission rate to help its drivers
Lawyer George Royeca, president and CEO of motorcycle ride-hailing platform Angkas, announces during a press conference at the Quezon Memorial Circle on April 16, 2026 that his company will lower the standard commission rate for its riders from 20 percent to 18 percent. He said this would largely help ease the burden of riders in the wake of the unabated rise in fuel costs due to the ongoing Middle East War. He says Angkas has also been rolling out additional support measures, including fuel and food vouchers as well as discounts at partner gas stations.
