शनिवार, 18 अप्रैल की सुबह कश्मीर घाटी में उस वक्त अफरातफरी मच गई जब अचानक भूकंप के तेज़ झटके महसूस किए गए। सुबह करीब 8:24 बजे आए इस भूकंप की तीव्रता रिक्टर स्केल पर 5.0 मापी गई, जिसका केंद्र अफगानिस्तान के बदाखशान क्षेत्र में था और गहराई लगभग 190 किलोमीटर बताई गई। झटके लगते ही लोग डर के मारे अपने घरों और दफ्तरों से बाहर निकलकर खुले स्थानों की ओर भागने लगे। हालांकि, राहत की बात यह रही कि किसी भी तरह के जान-माल के नुकसान की खबर सामने नहीं आई है। पिछले तीन महीनों में यह तीसरी बार है जब घाटी में भूकंप के झटके महसूस किए गए हैं, जिससे लोगों में चिंता बढ़ गई है। विशेषज्ञों के अनुसार, कश्मीर भूकंपीय दृष्टि से संवेदनशील क्षेत्र है, इसलिए सतर्क रहना बेहद जरूरी है।
On the morning of Saturday, April 18, panic spread across the Kashmir Valley as strong earthquake tremors were suddenly felt. The quake struck at around 8:24 AM and measured 5.0 on the Richter scale. Its epicenter was located in the Badakhshan region of Afghanistan, with a depth of approximately 190 kilometers.
As soon as the tremors were felt, people rushed out of their homes and offices in fear, moving towards open spaces for safety. Fortunately, there have been no reports of any loss of life or property so far, which comes as a major relief.
