कांग्रेस महासचिव प्रियंका गांधी वाड्रा ने महिला आरक्षण बिल से जुड़े हालिया घटनाक्रम को लोकतंत्र की बड़ी जीत करार दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि विपक्ष की एकजुटता ने सरकार की उस कोशिश को नाकाम कर दिया, जिसमें संघीय ढांचे को कमजोर करने का आरोप लगाया जा रहा था। प्रियंका गांधी ने आरोप लगाया कि चुनावों के बीच जल्दबाजी में संसद सत्र बुलाया गया और बिल का मसौदा केवल एक दिन पहले सामने लाया गया, जो एक सोची-समझी रणनीति थी। उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि सरकार ने महिलाओं को सत्ता में बने रहने के लिए ढाल के रूप में इस्तेमाल करने की कोशिश की और खुद को उनका मसीहा दिखाना चाहा। हाथरस, मणिपुर और महिला खिलाड़ियों के मुद्दों का जिक्र करते हुए उन्होंने सरकार के महिला सशक्तिकरण के दावों पर सवाल उठाए। प्रियंका ने कहा कि अब जनता जागरूक हो चुकी है और राजनीतिक प्रचार से सच्चाई नहीं बदली जा सकती।

Referring to incidents in Hathras, Manipur, and issues faced by women athletes, she questioned the government’s claims of women’s empowerment. Priyanka added that the public is now more aware and that political campaigns cannot change the ground reality.
