Silvano Chimenti – Droga 1972 (Italy, Psychedelic-Progressive-Jazz Rock)
A solo album by the Italian guitarist from Taranto. He began his career in the beat group "I Planets," which released a single LP in 1967. This marked the beginning of a long and fruitful career as a session musician, which continues to this day. The album is entirely
A guitarist from Taranto, who's previous experiences included a number of Beat groups. He was then discovered by Roman Record and recorded an LP for the ''viaggio attraverso i problemi dell'Uomo'' series, dealing with human issues.Chimenti's album dealt with drug addiction, the line-up -as with many Italian albums- is unknown and ''Droga'' is considered by many as one of the first examples of Italian progressive music. In fact this is mostly a mix of Jazz Rock, Psychedelic Rock, Blues and Pop with some unexpected experimental twists at moments, basically serving a few of the album's titles.Largely guitar-driven and rhythmic with also lots of 60's-styled psychedelic organ and drumming, almost poppy in scarce edges, as light Beat lines are also included.Definitely not Prog and a very rare and expensive album as well.instrumental.apps79 Mar 05 2017
