Gilberto Ramirez đ„ Mexican Champion
Born in MazatlĂĄn, Sinaloa, Ramirez is a Mexican professional boxer and unified Cruiserweight champion who has held the World Boxing Association (WBA) and the World Boxing Organization (WBO) title since 2024. He is a two division world champion, having previously held the WBO Super Middleweight title from 2016 to 2019, and is the first boxer from Mexico to win a major world title in those weight classes. Against Arthur Abraham, RamĂrez put his name in Mexican boxing history, becoming the first fighter to win a super middleweight world title. All three judges scored the fight 120â108 for RamĂrez, who also became only the second Mexican to win a world title in a division heavier than middleweight, the first one having been Julio CĂ©sar GonzĂĄlez as the WBO light heavyweight champion in 2003. On 30 March 2024, defeated Arsen Goulamirian for the WBA cruiserweight title and then unified against Chris Billam-Smith. His current professional record stands at 48-1 (30 KO's) and he is scheduled to face David Benavidez on May 2nd.
