Some businesses along Monaro Street in Queanbeyan’s CBD say their trade has reduced significantly since the road was closed for upgrades a month and a half ago. Hospitality venues are being particularly hard-hit, with restaurant owners saying business has gone down by 40 to 50 per cent. The Queanbeyan council has introduced stimulus measures to encourage spending, but business owners say it's not enough to keep the doors open.
