The House justice committee voted against opening the sealed BIR box, with 6 members in favor, 38 opposed, and 0 abstained. The chair decided that the box would remain sealed and be kept by the committee until they decide whether there is probable cause.
A separate motion was approved to include the sealed box, whether opened or not, as part of the official records of the impeachment proceedings. These records will be sent to the plenary and the Senate if needed. (Video courtesy of House of Representatives)
