A union-backed report is calling for more guardrails around artificial intelligence in the workplace. The study, produced by the John Curtin Research Centre says AI could turbo charge workplace surveillance and usher in unsafe workloads, unless regulation is introduced. It's calling on the government to set up an AI taskforce, as well as make changes to the fair work act and ensuring human oversight of AI policy. It comes ahead of an address by the minister for employment who will lead a forum on the adoption of AI in the workforce.
