Enormous plumes of ash spread over 87 communities, causing visibility to drop to zero in certain locations and instigating panic among the local population. Although no injuries were reported, agricultural lands suffered damage and livestock perished, underscoring the persistent dangers near one of the nation's most active volcanoes.
Officials state that the situation remains stable for the time being, yet the threat is still present. Mayon is renowned for its symmetrical cone shape but continuously demonstrates its unpredictable might.
