DOST targets validation of over 1,200 innovations under new testing program
The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) targets validating about 1,200 locally developed innovations to enhance their competitiveness in the global market under its new Philippine Technology Evaluation and Standards for Testing (PHITEST) program. The program is set to serve as a unified, national testing and certification system for marketable innovations. During a press conference on May 5, 2026, DOST Secretary Renato Solidum Jr. said the framework aimed to address long-standing gaps in the country’s innovation ecosystem.
