Amid the Israel–Lebanon conflict, a video emerging from the Bayada area in southern Lebanon has become a major talking point in global military circles. It shows a Hezbollah fiber-optic guided FPV drone carrying out a highly precise strike on three Israeli soldiers. What’s striking is that the soldiers remained unaware of the drone until the very last moments.
Unlike traditional radio-controlled systems, this technology operates via a fiber-optic cable, making it immune to electronic jamming. Despite its low cost, such drones are posing a serious threat to advanced military equipment. In another viral clip, a similar drone is seen targeting a modern Merkava tank.
In response, Israel has begun adapting its tactics, but experts believe this emerging threat represents a fundamental shift in the nature of modern warfare.
