A significant new research project monitored more than 200,000 adults in the US over a decade and discovered that five typical American food items — processed deli meats, sugary cereals, microwaveable frozen meals, commercially made baked goods, and instant ramen — are associated with as much as a 67 percent increased risk of heart attacks. Physicians from Johns Hopkins recommend that Americans check product labels for items containing five or fewer familiar ingredients.
