Federal government ditches plan for freight line connecting Melbourne to Brisbane

The federal government has axed plans for Inland Rail after it estimated the project would cost 45-billion dollars. The freight line was going to connect Melbourne to Brisbane but will now end at Parkes in the central west of New South Wales.
