Central Australia is preparing for an influx of fitness fanatics, with Alice Springs hosting the annual West Macs Monster trail running festival this weekend. This year's sold-out festival has attracted more than 500 runners, and while many are keen to celebrate a fabulous community event, others are running the gruelling trail as part of a personal journey.
